TRAI extended its deadline

Telecom companies earlier had time till October 31 to implement traceability of OTP messages by TRAI. Following the demand of telecom companies Vi, Jio, Airtel and BSNL, TRAI has extended its deadline, it has been extended till 31 November. When its deadline ends in the last month of November, it will be mandatory for telecom companies to implement the traceability rule to track commercial messages and OTP messages.

There will be a delay in receiving OTP

If telecom companies Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL implement the traceability rule from December 1, then there may be a delay in receiving the OTP message. Due to this, if you do any work related to bank or reservation, there may be a delay in reaching your OTP. The reason behind Telecom Regulator TRAI taking such strict steps is that many times scammers easily gain access to any device through fake OTP messages, which can prove to be very harmful for the people. That is why TRAI has planned to stop these scams by tightening the rules.
