Jio tops TRAI's data and call quality test






Reliance Jio has topped the data and voice quality test conducted by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in four cities of the country. These tests were conducted between September and October 2024 in Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Ahmednagar. According to the recently released report of TRAI, the average download speed of Jio in all four cities was around 251 Mbps. Whereas the average download speed of Airtel came down to around 160 Mbps. Vodafone-Idea seemed to be lagging behind with an average download speed of 28 Mbps. Jio's download speed was 1.5 times faster than Airtel and nine times faster than Vi.

According to the recently released report of TRAI, the average download speed of Jio in the country's capital Delhi was more than 231 Mbps. During the same period, the download speed of Airtel was 171 Mbps and that of Vodafone Idea was around 14 Mbps. Whereas in Jaipur city, Jio broke all records in terms of download speed. Jio's average download speed in Jaipur was 356 Mbps, which was about 140 Mbps more than Airtel's average download speed. Airtel's average download speed was recorded at 216 Mbps. In Hyderabad and Ahmednagar also, the average download speed of Reliance Jio and its rival Airtel was higher by 45 and 116 Mbps respectively.

In terms of call quality, Jio achieved an excellent call setup success rate of 99.9% in Jaipur, Hyderabad and Ahmednagar. While Airtel could achieve call setup success rate of 99.75%, Vi could achieve 96.6% and BSNL could achieve only 97.7%. The time to set up a call i.e. receive a call was also the best on Jio. Call setup time on Jio was recorded at 0.75 seconds. Whereas the call was setup in 1.88 seconds on Airtel and 3.72 seconds on Vi.
