Jio Unveils ‘Nation-First AI Stack’ at India AI Summit
New Delhi, February 18, 2026 (Read) – Reliance Jio on Wednesday unveiled the roadmap for its ‘Nation-First AI Stack’ at the India AI Impact Summit, outlining plans to build a swadeshi and sovereign artificial intelligence ecosystem tailored to India’s needs.
Technically referred to as the ‘Jio AI Stack’, the initiative is being developed under Jio Intelligence with a focus on addressing India’s unique requirements and large-scale demand. The company clarified that the stack goes beyond data centre infrastructure and is designed as a comprehensive, full-stack AI ecosystem.
The Jio AI Stack will include gigawatt-scale green data centres, high-capacity computing infrastructure, AI platforms and frameworks, Indian language-based data foundations, a multilingual intelligence layer, and sector-specific applications. Multi-gigawatt AI data centres powered entirely by 100 per cent green energy are being developed within the country to create sustainable, national-scale AI capabilities.
Positioned as a sovereign AI ecosystem, the framework is being developed and operated within India, aligned with national priorities. According to the company, the platform aims to enable AI-driven solutions across key sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, small businesses and everyday services.
Jio stated that the core objective of the AI Stack is to make artificial intelligence accessible and affordable for every Indian, including enterprises and government organisations. Special emphasis is being placed on building AI systems that understand Indian languages and respond effectively to local challenges.
To support locally contextualised intelligence, extensive datasets in Indian languages are being developed. The company is also working on secure, multilingual voice AI and agentic platforms, allowing users to interact with AI seamlessly in their preferred languages.
Industry experts observed that India’s AI journey is increasingly shaped not only by technological capability but also by factors such as data sovereignty, energy efficiency, linguistic diversity and large-scale accessibility. The long-term impact of initiatives like the Jio AI Stack on India’s digital and economic growth is expected to unfold over the coming years.
