Jofra Archer created history in the all-rounder game, became the first England cricketer to do so after 30 years

This is the first half-century of Archer’s international career and he has scored a half-century for the first time since 2017 in first class cricket. Archer is the first England player to score a half-century and take five wickets in a Test match in Australia since Darren Gough at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 1995. He has become the 12th player from England to do so.

When Archer came to bat, England’s score was 168 runs at the loss of 8 wickets, after which he made a brilliant partnership of 106 runs in 180 balls with captain Ben Stokes and saved England from falling behind much in the first innings.

Let us tell you that during the third day’s play, the England team was all out for 286 runs in the first innings and the host team took a significant lead of 85 runs. Apart from Archer, captain Ben Stokes scored 85 runs and Harry Brook scored 45 runs.

Australia scored 371 runs in the first innings after winning the toss and batting first. In which Alex Carey scored 106 runs, Usman Khawaja played 82 runs and Mitchell Starc played a brilliant inning of 54 runs.
