Jordan can take advantage of India’s experience in farming, health and digital inclusion: Prime Minister
New Delhi, . Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the ‘India-Jordan Business Meet’ on Tuesday, proposed cooperation in the fields of agriculture, health and digital inclusion. He said that historical trust and future economic opportunities bind the two countries.
The Prime Minister joined King Abdullah II and His Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II today at the India-Jordan Business Forum. During this, he highlighted areas for further strengthening trade, business and investment relations between India and Jordan.
In his address at the business meet, the Prime Minister said that India’s growth rate is above 8 percent. This growth momentum is the result of productivity driven governance and innovation driven policies. The Prime Minister said that India has a lot of experience in farming in dry climates. This experience can make a big difference in Jordan. He said that we can work on solutions like well-organized farming and micro irrigation. We can also work together in creating cold chain, food park and storage facilities.
Describing the health sector as an area of strategic priority, the Prime Minister said that Indian companies should make medicines and medical devices in Jordan. The people of Jordan will benefit from this. Besides, Jordan will also become a reliable hub for East Asia and Africa.
He said that India has made digital technology a model of inclusion and efficiency. Our frameworks like UPI Aadhaar, Digital Locker have emerged as global standards today. He discussed with the Jordanian leadership the integration of these frameworks into Jordanian systems.
