Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the councilors who will play an active role in increasing the income of women beneficiaries of the state government’s ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme by linking them with the central government’s ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, will be awarded good and important posts in Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). He called it a concrete step towards making women self-reliant. Under the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, the state government provides financial assistance of Rs 1500 every month to eligible women, while the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to increase the annual income of women associated with self-help groups to at least Rs 1 lakh. The Chief Minister said that if both the schemes are linked properly, lakhs of women of Maharashtra can become economically empowered.
Roadmap to make Nashik a smart city
Presenting the outline of development plans for Nashik, the Chief Minister said that large-scale investment will be made to make the city ‘smart and modern’. He announced that to strengthen the security system in Nashik, 4,000 AI-powered CCTV cameras will be installed, which will be equipped with modern technology and will help in crime control. Along with this, he announced to establish IT Park and Electric Mobility Hub in Nashik. Fadnavis said that this will provide new employment opportunities to the youth and the city will become economically stronger.
Projects worth Rs 27 thousand crore, preparation for defense corridor
The Chief Minister said that a total of development projects worth Rs 27,000 crore are proposed in Nashik. Apart from this, information was also given about investment of Rs 12,000 crore in the Nashik unit of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). He said that a recommendation has been sent to the Central Government to develop an aviation based defense corridor in Nashik, which will give a new identity to the region at the national level.
