Junior doctor commits suicide in Ranchi RIMS, jumps from hostel roof with girlfriend

Ranchi: On Monday, October 21, a junior doctor jumped from the third floor of the hostel along with his girlfriend in RIMS i.e. Rajendra Institute of Medical Science campus in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Giving detailed information about this incident, the police officer said that information about this incident was received from Block No. 4 hostel late night on 20th October. A junior doctor of RIMS along with his girlfriend allegedly jumped from the third floor of the hostel, resulting in his death, a police officer said.

Let us tell you, the deceased has been identified as Akash, a second year postgraduate student and his girlfriend has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition. According to the police, prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide and more information will emerge after investigation.

Giving information about this suicide, RIMS PRO Rajeev Ranjan said that the security personnel allegedly heard a loud noise after both of them jumped from the floor. In such a situation, last night at around 10:30 pm, a second year orthopedic student jumped from the third floor of the hostel. The boy hooked up with another girl, however, we do not know detailed information about the girl who is not related to Rimes.

As soon as information about the incident was received, the guards reached the spot. Additionally, the officer said that the woman who sustained shoulder injuries has recovered. Both were admitted to the hospital. However, Akash died two hours later. The woman is out of danger, but has sustained injuries on her shoulder. There is no such fatal injury. “We don’t know whether it was suicide or not,” the RIMS official said. CCTV footage is being examined and further investigation is also underway.
