Google Vids is the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) based video creation platform. The company is now rolling out a major update for the platform. In August 2025, the company made the Google Vids video making platform available to all users. However, the facility to create AI videos through text prompts on this platform was only available to paid users. But now the company has come up with a special surprise for its users. The company has announced that users will now be able to create Veo 3.1-powered AI videos for free. No need to spend any money for this. But the company has limited the creation of videos for free users. This update will be beneficial for those users who don’t want to spend money to use this platform.

New features added to Google Vids

In a blog post, the company also shared information about some of the new features added to the platform with this new update. Users will now be able to create videos for free with the Veo 3.1 AI model. They don’t need to spend money for this. Also, users who have a personal Google account will be able to create AI videos of up to 8 seconds using text prompts or image input. The company has also shared information about a custom soundtrack. Users will now be able to add AI-generated soundtracks to their clips or entire videos based on the Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro models. The company says that users will be able to create tracks from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. This feature is currently only available for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.

The company is also preparing to add AI avatars to the platform. When creating anchor-based clips or videos, subscription users can now create an AI avatar using Veo 3.1, which can be customized and whose face and voice are always the same. This means, this avatar can be used not only in clips but also in different projects. You don’t need to worry about compatibility. The AI avatar can be controlled to a large extent. Users can place these avatars in a specific scene and interact with the uploaded objects. With this new update released by the company, users will benefit and making videos will be more fun.
