Jyotiraditya Scindia on BSNL Growth: In the ‘Developed India Leadership Conclave 2026’ organized in the capital Delhi, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia spoke in detail on the reforms of BSNL, development of North-East and development plans of the Central Government. He said that the aim of the government is not just to make schemes but to ensure their effective implementation. For this, regular review meetings are held with the officials, so that the development works can be carried forward at a faster pace by removing the obstacles coming in the projects.
Government keeps an eye on BSNL’s performance
Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the government is making continuous efforts for the improvement of BSNL. He informed that the progress against the set targets is assessed in regular review meetings with the higher officials of the company. If any problem or obstacle arises in a project, efforts are made to remove it immediately. He said that we are working seriously to make BSNL strong and competitive.
Big increase in operating profit
The Union Minister said that two years ago the operating profit of BSNL was around Rs 500 crore. After this, there was a significant improvement in the performance of the company and in the last financial year it increased to about Rs 5,100 crore.

He said that this is a big achievement for the company. The government aims to increase the operating profit of BSNL to Rs 7,000 crore by the year 2026. According to him, this improvement is the result of better management, investment and effective implementation of schemes.

Telecom network is expanding
Referring to BSNL and telecom sector, Scindia said that about Rs 45 thousand crore is being invested to strengthen mobile connectivity in the North-East. The government aims to reach every village in the region with mobile networks and ensure 100 percent telecom coverage. He said that digital connectivity will make it easier for people to access education, health, business and government services. He said this is in line with the government’s ‘Developed India 2047’ One of the major goals of the vision.
