K-drama Queen of Tears to be remade by Turkish producer; deets here

Queen of Tears is one of the most anticipated and loved K-dramas of 2024 which starred Kim Ji Won and well-known South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun. Due to its unprecedented viewership and popularity, the show will soon be adapted into Turkish, reaching a larger global audience.

The Turkish agency O3 Medya & DASS Yapim and the South Korean production business CJ Entertainment announced on October 22, 2024, that they would be working together to create a Turkish adaptation of Queen of Tears. The show, which was first directed by Studio Dragon, debuted on the well-known network tvN and quickly became quite famous. Queen of Tears Cast, News, Videos and more

Queen of Tears will be co-produced in Turkey by O3 Medya and Dass Yapim, two prominent production firms known for their high-caliber dramas and significant sway in the local TV market. Through HECE Medya, International distribution will be handled by Eccho Rights.

It’s not the first time, though, that a K-drama has been adapted into Turkish sphere. Deals for a Turkish version of Doctor Cha, King the Land, and Queen of Tears were stalled earlier this year.

The South Korean romantic-comedy series Queen of Tears, which stars Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in the lead roles, tells the story of two people who have rather different outlooks on life falling in love. But once Hae In receives a chronic illness diagnosis, their relationship takes a significant turn for the better, and they fall in love again.

It also stars Lee Joo Bin, Yoon Bomi, Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, and others in prominent roles. The series has been written by writer Park Ji Eun well-known for her outstanding work in K-dramas such as Crash Landing on You, The Producers, and The Legend of the Blue Sea and directed by Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won.
