Obaidullah Rajput: Who misled the Pakistani player? Gave clarification in front of camera after hoisting Indian flag, know what is the whole matter

Recently, Pakistani Kabaddi player Obaidullah Rajput is facing heavy criticism for participating in a private Kabaddi tournament held in Bahrain. Considering the seriousness of this matter, Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) has ordered an investigation. Actually, a tournament named ‘GCC Cup’ was organized in Bahrain on Tuesday, in which a match was played between teams named ‘India’ and ‘Pakistan’. After the match, a picture of Obaidullah Rajput went viral on social media, in which he is seen holding the Indian flag.

The player said, “I was misled.” As the controversy escalated, Obaidullah Rajput released a video on Facebook and gave clarification. He claimed that he was not aware that the teams were named ‘India’ and ‘Pakistan’. He said, “When I entered the field, people started shouting that despite being a Rajput, I was playing for the Indian team. I had requested the commentator not to call it an ‘India vs Pakistan’ match.” Rajput further said that it was a local cup which was given a color like the World Cup. He has also apologized to the Federation and the coach for his mistake.

Federation’s strict stance and violation of NOC

On the other hand, Pakistan Kabaddi Federation General Secretary Rana Sarwar has described this tournament as completely unauthorized. He clarified that the team going to Bahrain was not the Pakistan national team and the players had not taken any NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the government or the federation. Sarwar said, “We don’t even know when these players went abroad and when they returned. The organizers of these private tournaments are irresponsible and they are damaging the reputation of the game just to make money.”

Preparation for strict disciplinary action

The Federation is now considering taking strict action in this matter. According to Rana Sarwar, a ban can be imposed on players who violate the rules. Apart from this, to prevent such incidents in future, the federation is planning to submit the list of players to the immigration authorities, so that no player can go to play abroad without official permission. He also alleged that similar unauthorized tournaments are being organized in countries like New Zealand, which is worrying for the future of the game.
