Kale Khan station ready, journey can start in January – News
A big step is being taken towards making the travel of passengers of Delhi and NCR easier and faster. Namo Bharat train service from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut is going to start operating very soon. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has almost completed the construction work of the last and most important station of the Meerut Corridor at Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi. This project will not only reduce the distance between Delhi and Meerut in terms of time, but will also provide world class facilities to the passengers.

Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat Station has been made the largest and grandest station of the entire Meerut Corridor. The size of this station can be estimated from the fact that it is approximately 215 meters long and 50 meters wide. Special arrangements have been made to streamline the movement of passengers and control crowding. Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, 12 escalators and 4 lifts have been installed here, which will make it easier for children, elderly people and people traveling with luggage to reach the platform.

The biggest feature of this station is the huge parking facility being developed here, which is considered to be the largest parking of its kind in Delhi-NCR. The station premises will have the capacity to park about 275 cars and 900 two-wheelers simultaneously, which will provide great relief to passengers coming by private vehicle. Apart from this, to ensure seamless connectivity between public transport, 17 bus bays have been created just below the station, so that the passengers can get the facility of bus to their destination as soon as they get off the train.
Direct connection with Metro-ISBT and great restaurants-cafes will open for food.
Kale Khan station has been developed as a multi-modal transit hub. It is being directly connected to Delhi Metro, Interstate Bus Terminal (ISBT) and city bus services, making travel from Delhi and surrounding areas to Meerut seamless. To meet the catering needs during the journey, restaurants, food outlets and cafes will also be opened in the station premises itself. With this, passengers traveling long distances or returning from office will have the facility of refreshment at the station itself.
Possibility of inauguration by the Prime Minister in January and daily commuters will get relief from jam.
There is a strong possibility of the Kale Khan to Meerut Namo Bharat corridor being inaugurated by the end of January. It is believed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon inaugurate this corridor and dedicate it to the general public. With the introduction of Namo Bharat train, the travel time between Delhi and Meerut will reduce significantly. With this, thousands of commuters who travel up and down daily for jobs and business will get rid of the terrible traffic jams and long tiring journeys on the roads forever.
