Kangana Ranaut Reacts To Marriage Rumours With Rahul Gandhi, Slams ‘Fake News’

Mumbai: Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has emphatically dismissed viral rumours claiming she agreed to marry Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Kangana criticised those spreading the claims and urged people not to fall for fake news circulating on social media.

On May 3, a meme page on Instagram spread a claim alleging that Kangana had agreed to marry Rahul if he joined the BJP, supposedly after Raghav Chadha quit the Aam Aadmi Party to join the saffron party.

The page, called Naughty World, posted an image of Kangana and Rahul with the caption, “Agar Rahul Gandhi BJP join krenge toh mein unse shaadi karne ke liye tayar hoon (If Rahul Gandhi joins the BJP, then I am ready to marry him)”.

The unverified claim quickly went viral across social media platforms, triggering a wave of debates, memes, and mixed reactions among users.

Some netizens mocked the rumour, others stepped up in Kangana’s defence.

One X user commented, “Feels like someone’s PR is targeting #KanganaRanaut – she never said those things, yet fake quotes about #RahulGandhi are being pushed by some media pages. Totally false. Shame.”

Others reacted with surprise and confusion as the claim continued to circulate online.

On May 4, Kangana reposted the meme on her Instagram Stories, clearly dismissing the claim and clarifying the facts.

In a sharp response, she condemned the spread of misinformation and pointed out the lack of respect and dignity often extended to women, even within political conversations.

She further called out those behind the rumour, asking them to have some sense of shame.

“How pathetic is this fake news, no dignity for women even in politics, shame on those who are spreading these fake news,” Kangana wrote.

This isn’t the first instance of friction between Kangana and Rahul.

She has previously taken aim at his Lok Sabha speeches, claiming they give her a headache and accusing him of sidestepping important issues.
