Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut recently remarked that no one can become a star without making enemies. Sharing her views on the ongoing Don 3 controversy involving Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar, she addressed the matter during the trailer launch of her upcoming film, Bharat Bhagya Viddhaata. The actress-politician was questioned about her stance on the high-profile dispute, which has emerged as one of Bollywood’s most talked-about controversies in recent times.

The Dhurandhar actor and Farhan Akhtar have reportedly been involved in a dispute over Excel Entertainment’s ambitious film Don 3. The conflict emerged after Ranveer Singh exited the project just days before filming was scheduled to begin. Since then, the issue has escalated and reached industry bodies, including the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and CINTAA for further discussion.

On June 2, while promoting her latest film and marking her return to the big screen, Kangana Ranaut was questioned about the ongoing Ranveer Singh-Farhan Akhtar controversy. Responding to the query during the press interaction, the actress shared her views on the matter. “You cannot become a star without gaining enemies. Ranveer Singh should sit and think about what a huge star he has become, that he’s also got enemies against him. When you grow in life, you face a series of obstacles. You cannot always have a smooth walk.”

Recalling her own similar experiences, Kangana laughed about the situation and further remarked. “I’ve personally faced so much. Today, I’m doing well in life. So there’s nothing to worry about. Everything is going to be fine, eventually.”

The controversy began after reports suggested that Ranveer Singh had exited Don 3 just before filming was set to commence. Directed and produced by Farhan Akhtar, the much-awaited project was reportedly deep into pre-production when news of the actor’s departure emerged, sparking widespread speculation and discussions across the industry.

Following the controversy, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation notice against Ranveer Singh on May 25, 2026. According to reports, the action followed a complaint by Akhtar, who allegedly claimed that the actor’s abrupt exit from the project caused losses of nearly Rs 45 crore. However, FWICE president BN Tiwari later clarified that the federation was not looking to impose a permanent ban on Ranveer. Instead, it plans to hear his side of the story and seek a fair and balanced resolution to the matter.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Dhurandhar 2helmed by Aditya Dhar. Produced by Jio Studios in collaboration with Aditya Dhar Films, the movie was released in cinemas on March 19. The sequel received a strong response from audiences and critics alike, going on to become a major box-office success and one of the year’s biggest blockbusters.
