After much anticipation, Suriya and Bobby Deol’s movie Kanguva has finally hit the big screens. Directed by Siva, the film was highly awaited by fans. However, to everyone’s surprise, the movie is struggling to maintain momentum at the box office. After a week of its release, the movie earned only Rs 62.91 crore. Considering the film was made on a whopping budget of Rs 350 crore, it is witnessing extremely slow growth.
Timely Day-Wise Box Office Report
Kanguva was released in five languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. On day one, the film’s box office collection stood at Rs 24 crore. However, starting from day two, the movie experienced a significant decline, earning just Rs 9 crore on its second day. On day three, the movie collected Rs 9.8 crore, while on day four, the box office figure stood at Rs 10.25 crore.
From day five, which marked the first Monday of the film, Kanguva faced a massive drop, earning only Rs 3.15 crore. On days six and seven, the movie managed to collect Rs 3.25 crore and Rs 2.43 crore, respectively. The estimated earnings for day eight are Rs 48 lakh. With this, the total box office collection of Kanguva stands at Rs 62.91 crore.
Will Kanguva Cross Rs 100 Crore in Its First Week?
It remains to be seen whether Suriya’s film will manage to cross the Rs 100 crore mark. After its release, the movie received mixed reviews. While some fans appreciated the film, others felt that the second half failed to resonate with the audience.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Producers Council (TNPC) has urged theatre owners to ban YouTube channels from conducting fan interviews on theatre premises after the first-day shows (FDFS) and to cooperate in ending the FDFS public review and opinion process entirely.
In addition to Suriya and Bobby Deol, the film features Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Harish Uthaman, and Mansoor Ali Khan in key roles.
