Kanpur: Councilor’s anger over contaminated water supply, work started by making JE sit in the sun

Kanpur. The anger of Ward 14 councilor Shalu Kanojia, who was angry over the contaminated water supply in Kidwai Nagar area of ​​Kanpur, came out openly on Monday. When the problem was not resolved despite complaining for three consecutive days, the councilor called Junior Engineer (JE) of Jal Nigam Ashish Jain to the spot and made him sit with him in the sun. They gathered at the spot and expressed their displeasure over the working style of the Jal Nigam. Amidst increasing pressure, JE finally had to start the repair work of the broken pipeline.

Problem of contaminated water in many areas

Councilor Shalu Kanojia said that due to negligence in the construction work of CM Grid Road, sewer and water pipelines have been damaged at many places in the area. Due to pipeline breakage, dirty sewer water is getting into the supply line, due to which contaminated water is reaching people’s homes. He said that many areas including O Block, M Block, Nayapurwa and Marble Market have been receiving dirty water for the last three days. Many people have fallen ill due to this, but the concerned department did not take any action in time.

After continuous protest and the councilor’s tough stance, JE Ashish Jain immediately started the repair work and assured to solve the problem soon. Regional people have warned that if the water supply problem is not completely resolved soon, they will be forced to launch a major agitation.
