Lamborghini Accident Kanpur: There has been a new and dramatic twist in the famous Lamborghini accident that took place in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Suraj Mishra has ruled to release the seized luxury car of Shivam Mishra, son of tobacco businessman KK Mishra, for which a record breaking undertaking has been sought.

About three weeks ago, on February 7, a horrific road accident took place on Kanpur’s VIP Road. This accident came into limelight when a speeding Lamborghini car hit several people near Bhairoghat intersection. About six people were injured in this incident and a bike rider was also injured.
The car was being driven by Shivam Mishra, son of KK Mishra, a big tobacco businessman of the city. After the incident, the video of Shivam running away from the spot also went viral on social media, after which the police took action and arrested him. However, due to bailable sections, the court had already released Shivam.

Big decision of the court: Personal bond of Rs 8.3 crores

The defense had filed an application in the court to release this 15 crore luxury Lamborghini car, which was gathering dust in Gwaltoli police station of Kanpur city for the last 20 days. Considering the seriousness of the case, the court of CJM Suraj Mishra has ordered the car owner to deposit a surety and undertaking of Rs 8.30 crore. This amount is possibly one of the largest amounts demanded for the release of a vehicle in the judicial history of the city. The court has clarified that the vehicle will be handed over only after the necessary documents and formalities are completed.

Many dramatic events took place in the court proceedings

There was a lot of drama in the court room during the hearing of this high-profile case. Before hearing the application for release of the car, two different courts had refused to take up the case. First the court of ACJM 7 refused to hear it, after which the case was sent to the court of Additional Civil Judge Senior Division, but there too it was refused to be heard. Ultimately, under the administrative order, this file reached the court of CJM Suraj Mishra, where after a long debate, the way was cleared for the release of the car.

These strict conditions are attached with the release

Along with the order to release the car, the court has also imposed several conditions, violation of which may result in heavy fine. According to the court order, after release, the car owner can neither sell the vehicle to anyone nor transfer it in the name of any other person. Apart from this, there will be a complete ban on making any kind of change in the original color and appearance of the car.
