Kanpur News: Degrees were being sold indiscriminately in Kanpur, 4 criminals caught in police surgical strike.
Kanpur. Chief Correspondent: While on one hand students get degrees by spending lakhs of rupees and toiling day and night in studies, on the other hand in Kanpur some miscreants were distributing degrees for just a few thousand rupees. Kidwai Nagar Police has conducted a ‘surgical strike’, busting a big fraud going on in the education world. Police have raided a fake office running near Gaushala intersection and arrested four accused, who were doing black business of making illiterate people graduates and preparing fake migration certificates.
Fraud under the guise of ‘Education Hub’ at Gaushala intersection
Disclosing this sensational case, Police Commissioner Raghuveer Lal said that Kidwai Nagar police was on patrol in the area when it was reported from the informer that fake educational documents were being prepared in the office named ‘Shell Group of Education’ near Gaushala intersection. The police team raided the spot without any delay and caught four gang members red-handed with suspicious documents. This gang used to take 10 to 20 thousand rupees and hand over fake mark sheets and certificates of any school or college.
Become a doctor-lawyer without taking exams, used to get degree sitting at home
The revelations made by the arrested accused during interrogation shocked even the police. The accused confessed that they used to prepare fake degrees of High School, Intermediate, Graduation, Post Graduation (PG), LLB and even Pharmacy. The gang had even got fake migration booklets printed in the name of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU). By using the fake seal of the Deputy Registrar, these miscreants had till now issued more than 80 fake migration certificates.
Fake marksheets were being made in the name of renowned universities
Among the documents recovered in the police raid, apart from Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council, fake mark sheets and certificates of renowned institutions like Mangalayatan University, JS University, Sikkim Professional University, Himalayan University and Swami Vivekananda Subharti University have been found. This gang not only created new degrees, but also played the game of increasing the marksheet with low marks into ‘merit’.
The arrested accused included MBA dropouts and those preparing for recruitment.
The arrested accused have been identified as Shailendra Kumar (Rae Bareli), Nagendra Mani Tripathi (Kaushambi), Jogendra (Ghaziabad/Delhi) and Ashwani Kumar Singh (Unnao). Interestingly, the main member of the gang, Shailendra himself is a graduate and had left his MBA studies midway, while Jogendra had filled the form for recruitment in police and army, but after not being selected, he entered the world of crime. The police are now actively searching for other gang members Ravi alias Manish (Hyderabad), Vineet (Ghaziabad), Shubham Dubey (Chhatarpur) and Mayank Bhardwaj (Manipur).
