Karachi Blast: Massive explosion in Karachi, Pakistan, at least 16 people killed, 14 injured

Karachi Blast: There was a massive explosion in Pakistan’s major city Karachi on Thursday. At least 16 people have been reported killed, while about 14 people are said to be seriously injured. The death toll may increase. Due to the blast, the dilapidated part of the building has also collapsed. Initial information has revealed that the blast in Karachi was caused by suspected gas leakage.

According to reports, the blast in Karachi occurred at around 4:30 am on the first floor of a building located in the Old Soldier Bazaar area. During this period, people were awake during Sehri time in Ramzan. Regarding the incident, police say that the cause of the blast was apparently gas leakage. So far, dead bodies of 14 people have been recovered from the accident site. Apart from this, about 14 people have been injured, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

According to the fire brigade service, they are still searching for bodies or survivors in the building. Those killed in the accident included 9 children aged between 2 to 17 years and 7 children were among the injured. Earlier, a fire broke out in the basement of Gul Shopping Plaza, a wholesale and retail market in Karachi’s Sadar area. At least 79 people died and many were seriously injured in this accident.
