Koffee with Karan 9: Karan Johar’s show with a new twist, entry of OTT and South stars

director-producer Karan Johar (Karan Johar) is preparing to bring back the ninth season (Season 9) of his popular reality chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’. According to the recent report of Mid-Day News Portal, Karan Johar is currently busy in initial discussions regarding Season 9. If everything goes well, then the shooting of this show can start soon.

The report suggests that this time a lot of changes can be made in the format of the show. Keeping in mind the interest and preferences of the audience, some old segments will be shortened and made more modern and contemporary. Like before, not only the big stars of Bollywood, but this time South stars, popular artists of OTT platform and creators (digital content creators) will also be given a lot of space in the show.

When will the new season come?

In the last few seasons, South stars also shared their interesting stories in the show. Which was liked very much by the audience. If all the things are finalized, ‘Koffee with Karan’ season 9 will be streamed with a new and fresh look on JioHotstar by the end of this year. Although this deal has not been completely finalized yet, only initial level talks are going on.

Who were the guests on Season 8?

The 8th season of Koffee with Karan started in October 2023 and ended in January 2024. Many big stars graced the show in this season. The season started with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. After that Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol came with the brother duo. Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey also appeared together in an episode. The pairing of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt was also much talked about. Couples like Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee, Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor also added to the fun in the show. Apart from this, veteran actors like Ajay Devgan, Rohit Shetty, Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan, Zeenat Aman and Neetu Kapoor also came as guests. In the last episode of the season, digital creators Tanmay Bhatt, Danish Sait, Kusha Kapila and Sumukhi Suresh made the show special.

This show first started in the year 2004. In this, Karan Johar invites his industry friends for coffee, where they openly gossip, talk about films and participate in a fun rapid fire round. The show’s longest break was four years, which ran from 2018 to 2022 (between seasons 6 and 7). The initial seasons were broadcast on Star World channel, but after 2022, the show moved to Disney+ Hotstar (now JioHotstar). Now all the fans hope that some new, fresh and more entertaining content will be seen in Season 9.
