Kareena Kapoor would love to share screen with this Hollywood actress- The Week

Kareena Kapoor has adopted a “never say never” attitude when it comes to venturing into Hollywood.

While addressing the NDTV World Summit 2024 – The India Century on Tuesday, the actress said that she is open to venturing into the Korean drama world while also spilling the beans on which Hollywood actress she is most eager to work with.

“I’m a huge fan of Meryl Streep; I’d want to stand in the same frame as her. Anything is possible. Who knows, maybe, a Korean film? I’d love to explore K-dramas, everyone’s watching them,” she said.

“Language is not a barrier today. I have never really pursued any dreams to go to Hollywood. It has never been on my agenda. But never say never,” the Jab We Met actress added.

Kapoor also went on to praise Bollywood, and said that its uniqueness lies in its “authenticity”. “Our films are true to our culture and heritage. We love our song and dance, drama, action and our films are enjoyed in our languages. That’s also what sets us apart.”

“We enjoy Korean and French cinema, but we still enjoy dancing to Naatu Naatu at Oscars,” she added.

Kapoor went on to say that her favourite collaboration would be with Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh.

“The best collaboration would be with Diljit. I’m his biggest fan; everybody knows. There was a song in CrewNaina — and he has taken Punjabi music to a completely different level and put us on the global billboards. I hope he’s my fan because I’m a big fan of his.”

She also went on to praise India’s official selection for the Oscars, Laapataaa Ladies, praising the film for its global recognition. Laapataaa Ladiesa journey of two women, has put India and its stories on the map. Our films are being watched in Indian languages. Our language is very easy to understand. You would understand our films so much more via OTT which have subtitles. I’d like to say try watching our films in our language and enjoy them.”

Kareena Kapoor was last seen in thriller-mystery The Buckingham Murderswhich will make its way to Netflix on November 8.
