Karma police gets big success, accused arrested with illegal ganja

As part of the campaign being run against drugs in the district under the direction of Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar and supervision of Area Officer Ghorawal Rahul Pandey, Karma Police took effective action and arrested an accused with illegal ganja.
On 27.03.2026, on the information of an informer, during the field visit/checking by the police station Karma, a raid was conducted in a semi-built room located in village Kekrahi. Seeing the police, a suspicious person tried to run away, who was caught on the spot with promptness. During interrogation, he revealed his name as Chhataku alias Chhotaku, son of Mishri Harijan, resident of village Kekrahi, police station Karma, district Sonbhadra. After searching as per rules, 01 kg 500 grams of illegal ganja, ₹ 590/- cash and a mobile phone were recovered from the possession of the accused. In this regard, necessary legal action is being taken by registering a case at Police Station Karma under M.O. No. 42/2026 Section 8/20 NDPS Act.

The arrest/seizure team mainly included SHO Jairam Singh of Karma police station, Sonbhadra district, SHO Manoj Singh, SHO Vishal Chauhan, SHO Sanjay Kumar Gupta. The campaign against drug trafficking is continuing by the district police.
