Karnataka MUDA scam: HC upholds governor’s sanction to prosecute Siddaramiah

In a major blow to Karnataka Chief Minister, the High Court has upheld the sanction to prosecute Siddaramiah in Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam.
. The Karnataka CM had earlier approached the high court seeking quashing of governor’s sanction seeking his prosecution in the alleged scam.

In his judgement, the court held that that the complainants were justified to seek approvals from the governor. The single judge bench led by Justice M Nagaprasanna also stated that complainants have the right to seek sanction prosecution from governor under Section 17A of Prevention of Corruption Act.
