Amul-Mother Dairy's problems increase! Now Karnataka's Nandini brand is going to enter Delhi
This time there may be problems for big dairy brands like Amul and Mother Dairy in Delhi, because Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), which distributes dairy products under the Nandini brand, is going to expand. According to MK Jagadish, Managing Director of KMF, the federation is preparing to expand its reach to Delhi with fresh dairy products like milk and curd.
MK Jagadish has told that Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah will launch Nandini milk and curd products in Delhi on 21st November. Apart from this, Idli and Dosa batter will also be offered in Bengaluru on 26th November.
KMF will expand by this much
In fact, Delhi's dairy market is currently dominated by brands like Mother Dairy, Amul, Madhusudan and Namaste India. There itself KMF sells its products in Karnataka, Maharashtra (Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Solapur), Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kerala. If its entry is made in Delhi and if the federation enters the North Indian market, then Nandini brand will compete with big brands like Amul of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation.
This is the whole plan
Let us tell you that recently KMF has issued a tender for the transportation of milk through insulated road tankers from Mandya Milk Union to Delhi. KMF has made a plan under which 2,190 tankers will be used to deliver milk from Mandya to Delhi and surrounding areas including parts of Haryana. A federation official told Moneycontrol that the estimated daily quantity of milk to be transported is about 1,00,000 kg. In such a situation, along with 33 KL tankers, three tankers will be required every day.
KMF has 22 thousand villages in Karnataka.
KMF is connected to a vast network of 15 unions, 24 lakh milk producers and 14,000 cooperative societies in 22,000 villages of Karnataka. It processes 8.4 million liters of milk per day and offers more than 65 products. The federation distributes Rs 17 crore daily to farmers and has a turnover of around Rs 19,800 crore in 2021-22. KMF also supplies to the armed forces. This federation exports milk to international markets like Middle East, Singapore, Bhutan, Myanmar and America.
