BJP leader CT Ravi gets bail in Karnataka, had called the women minister a prostitute

Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP leader and Legislative Council member CT Ravi has been taken into custody by the police. He is accused of calling Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar a prostitute. Lakshmi lodged an FIR against CT Ravi at Hirebagiwadi police station in Belagavi, after which Ravi was brought to Khanpura police station for questioning. After this a case was registered against him.

Ravi refuted Minister Lakshmi's allegations and said that he had not said anything like that. Congress is trapping him. He never used such words for a woman minister. Ravi accused Congress leaders and the police of conspiring to murder him. In the written complaint he said that if anything happens to him, the police and Congress will be responsible. After his arrest on Friday, Ravi was brought to Mutag Center in Belagavi for medical checkup. Belagavi police produced him in the district court. The court granted him bail.

Ravi accused

BJP MLC Ravi, who was transferred from Ankalagi police station, said that till now I have been transferred to 3 districts Belagavi, Dhadhavad and Bagalkot. No one can explain why this is happening to me. I don't want to say much right now, but I will later. I can say that this is a dictatorial government. Till now I have not been given information about the case registered against me.

Lawyer said- Ravi's life is in danger

Ravi's lawyer Chetan told that as soon as he got the information about his detention, he immediately reached Khanpura police station but he was not allowed to meet Ravi. Any accused has the right to meet his lawyer during police custody or whenever he is interrogated. Despite this we were not allowed inside for 1.5 hours.

When we met CT Ravi, he said that he wanted to lodge an FIR. According to Ravi, his life is in danger. The lawyer alleges that despite the written complaint, the Khanpura police did not register his FIR.(with agency input)
