Kartik Aaryan blames ‘Dhurandhar wave’ for his film’s poor box office run

Kartik Aaryan takes a dig at ‘Dhurandhar’ after ‘Tu Meri Main Tera’ failure

Kartik Aaryan is taking a dig at Dhurandhar after Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri failed to leave an impression at the box office.

The actor, currently promoting his latest release alongside Ananya Panday, didn’t hesitate to share a post by screenplay writer Saurabh Bharat on Monday, December 29.

The post highlighted the craze surrounding action films, praising Karan Johar’s vision behind promoting a progressive starrer that could change the scope of Indian cinema.

It read, “It’s so heartwarming to see that amidst the madness of hypermasculinity and testosterone-boosting action films, someone is making a breezy progressive film. Congratulations on building a genre of cinema that entertains yet pushes the envelope deep into society.”

Amplifying the post about You Meri’s unique narrative, Kartik reacted with a heart.

This update comes after trade expert Taran Adarsh warned Johar against the 2025 wave, requesting that they postpone the release.

He said at the time, “Five days before the release, I called Dharma Productions’ team and requested that they postpone the release. I told them, ‘There’s a strong Dhurandhar wave. You still have time. Even if you get the screens, you won’t get the audience.’ When I saw the film, I told Kartik Aaryan that he made a mistake by coming amid the Dhurandhar wave.”

Dhurandhar’s success has deeply impacted the box office numbers of other films in India, including Avatar: Fire and Ash.

While others have managed to earn a decent total at the box office, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has struggled to maintain momentum.
