Kartik Tyagi on Learning from Dwayne Bravo & Shah Rukh Khan

Pressure changes things. That idea stuck with Kartik Tyagi after watching Dwayne Bravo work. Experience shows up in small moments, not just big plays. Learning when to act comes easier when someone like Bravo leads by example. The presence of older teammates shifts how choices unfold during tense matches. Guidance often arrives quietly, between overs or at practice. Having lived through tough spots, they shape judgment without saying much.

“He has a lot of experience in the T20 format, so everyone knows his skillset. But it’s about understanding which skill to use and when to use it. Sometimes you go in with a plan, but under pressure–especially if you’re playing after a long gap–it’s not easy to think clearly. That’s when having someone with so much experience around helps a lot on the field. They guide us on what to do, when to do it, and at what moment to bowl,” he said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the KKR vs LSG clash.

That time around, KKR mentioned running into Shah Rukh Khan – owner of the team – who shared a few words about pushing limits. The actor, known more for films than cricket, somehow made it feel personal. His presence sparked something different among the group. Not just talk, but energy too. He didn’t give advice exactly, rather reminded them what effort looks like when done right. Moments like those stick without trying hard.

“We met Shah Rukh Khan, and he motivated us a lot. He told us that we should always strive to be the best, and that really inspired us,” Kartik Tyagi said.

Still no wins for KKR as their IPL 2026 run stumbles through three games. Sitting at number eight, they hold just a single point – gained when rain washed out their clash against Punjab Kings, handing both sides a share of the spoils. Instead of celebration, it’s been quiet exits and early scoreboard glances. Luck hasn’t turned yet, even once. Each game slips by without that first triumph lighting up their season.

Right now, with the game versus LSG coming up, Tyagi mentioned the squad feels sharp, locked in on taking the victory.

“We’re focused on winning the match, and we’re very hungry for it. It’s been on our minds for the past few days. We’re constantly thinking about how to get the win. Our planning is complete, and hopefully, the result will go in our favour,” Tyagi said
