Kashi Journalist Association pays emotional tribute to senior journalist Jaleshwar Upadhyay

Varanasi, 21 March. A condolence meeting was held at the Kashi Journalist Association on Saturday on the demise of senior journalist and thinker Jaleshwar Upadhyay. Journalists and intellectuals present at Paradkar Smriti Bhawan remembered the personality and work of Jaleshwar Upadhyay, who was a member of Kashi Journalist Association, and paid emotional tribute to him.

Jaleshwar was a deep thinker and sensitive person

Speakers said that Jaleshwar Upadhyay was not just a journalist but a deep thinker and sensitive human being. In his long journalistic career, he raised various issues of the society prominently while working in prestigious newspapers like ‘Gandiv’, ‘Aaj’, ‘Amar Ujala’ and ‘Amrit Prabhat’. Jaleshwar always continued doing journalism with integrity and impartiality. His writings reflected deep compassion and clear vision towards the society.

The speakers also mentioned that in the last years of his life, he was living a lonely life after the untimely demise of his wife and daughter, yet he maintained his connection with the society through his thoughts and writings. The people present termed his contribution as unforgettable and said that the absence of Jaleshwar Upadhyay will be felt in the world of journalism for a long time.

At the end, a two-minute silence was observed and prayers were offered for the peace of the departed soul. Kashi Journalist Association President Arun Mishra, General Secretary Jitendra Kumar Srivastava, former President Yogesh Gupt, Bibi Yadav, Dr. Atri Bhardwaj, senior journalist Ramesh Chandra Rai, Ashish Bagchi, Press Club Minister Vinay Shankar Singh, Vice President Dev Kumar Keshari, Vimlesh Chaturvedi, Ashutosh Pandey, Sunil Shukla etc. were present in the condolence meeting.
