Tangled (2010) tells the story of Rapunzel, a princess with long hair that has magical powers to heal people. She is kept away from the public’s eye and locked in a high tower by Mother Gothel. One day, she secretly escapes with the help of Flynn Rider and goes on an adventure exploring the world she has never seen. However, Mother Gothel has sinister motives and is ready to get back Rapunzel at any cost.
The film, directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, was critically and highly commercially acclaimed upon release, earning over $591 million worldwide. Its success spawned a franchise, including a short film, Tangled Ever After (2012), a video game, a stage musical, and a television series which premiered in 2017.
