Katra Expressway: Facilities will increase on Katra Expressway, 12 modern rest areas will be built in Haryana border.

Katra Expressway: Preparations have started to increase the convenience of passengers on Katra Expressway passing through Bahadurgarh, Haryana. Under the scheme of Haryana Government and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), 12 modern rest areas will be developed in Haryana border. The process of construction of these rest areas is likely to start soon and the work will be completed by March 2026.

About 135 km long section of Katra Expressway has been developed in Haryana region. This expressway has been started in November 2024 and at present the movement of vehicles on it is happening at a fast pace. Now, to provide better facilities to the passengers, work has been started on the plan to build a rest area on the expressway.
On behalf of NHAI, work is being done on this part of 34 km Katra Expressway from Jasaur Khedi at a cost of about Rs 1866 crore.

Interchange work in progress in Nilothi
The construction work of interchange at zero point of KMP and Katra Expressway at Nilothi is also going on at a fast pace. The work of Double Trumpet Interchange is still incomplete, which may take about two more months to complete.

After the interchange becomes operational, toll will be collected from vehicles traveling to and from KMP on Katra Expressway. A separate toll plaza will also be built for this. At the same time, for those vehicles which will travel directly instead of going on Katra Expressway, a flyover has been built on KMP. However, this project is running late by about 14 months.

Delhi-Katra Expressway is 650 kilometers long

It is noteworthy that the total length of the proposed expressway from Delhi to Katra is about 650 kilometers. 8 toll plazas will be built in Haryana and 13 in Punjab on this expressway. The estimated cost of the entire project is around Rs 40 thousand crores.

This mega project is being built in two phases under a total of 18 packages. According to the target, most of the construction work of the expressway is planned to be completed in two phases by December 31, 2025 and April 2026.
After the completion of the expressway, the journey from Delhi to Katra will not only be faster, but passengers will also get a more safe and comfortable travel experience with modern facilities.
