IPL 2026: Liam Livingstone to join Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sports: There was a lot of discussion about England all-rounder Liam Livingstone in the IPL 2026 auction. After remaining unsold in the first round, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) succeeded in buying him in the second round. The Hyderabad franchise made a strong bid of Rs 13 crore for Livingstone, which they won, leaving other teams behind.
Hyderabad bought Livingstone for 13 crores
The base price of Liam Livingstone was kept at Rs 2 crore. When his name came up in the first round, no team bid on him and he remained unsold. But his name was called again in the second round, due to which many teams caught sight of him. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made a bid of Rs 2.80 crore, but later withdrew their bid.

Gujarat Titans also showed their participation and increased their bid to Rs 4 crore. However, they could not proceed further due to their budget limitations. After this the real contest between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants began. Both the teams wanted to include Livingstone in their squad.

Lucknow Super Giants also made a bid and raised the bid to Rs 12.80 crore, but due to limited budget they also had to back out. Finally, Sunrisers Hyderabad made the final bid of Rs 13 crore and included Liam Livingstone in their team. Thus, Kavya Maran’s team took an important decision by bringing this all-rounder in their squad.
Scored only 112 runs in 8 innings
Livingstone’s performance in the last IPL season, i.e. IPL 2025, was at the tertiary level. He scored only 112 runs in 8 innings while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. His performance in bowling was also average, and he was able to take only 2 wickets this season.
How was Livingstone’s performance in IPL?
However, if we look at his IPL career, Livingstone has scored 1051 runs in 49 matches, and has also taken 13 wickets. There has been a lot of positive change in his T20 form after IPL 2025. In The Hundred League, he captained Birmingham Phoenix and scored 241 runs, with a strike rate of over 155. Apart from this, he has also taken 7 wickets in his name.
Hyderabad has high expectations from Livingstone
Livingstone also excelled in the T20 Blast tournament, where he scored 260 runs and took 6 wickets. Now Sunrisers Hyderabad hope that Liam Livingstone will play an important role for the team by maintaining his excellent form in IPL 2026.
