In the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, the spin department of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) looks inexperienced but it has quality spinners. Harsh Dubey, Zeeshan Ansari and Cranes Phuletra are its frontline spinners. Whereas SRH has two spin all-rounders in the form of Kamindu Mendis and Shivang Kumar.
SRH will play either Zeeshan Ansari and Cranes Phuletra as specialist spinners. Zeeshan is a leg spinner, while Phuletra is a left arm wrist spinner. Apart from these two, SRH can also field Shivang Kumar, who is also adept at scoring runs quickly by coming in the lower order.

Who is Shivang Kumar?
Shivang Kumar, who comes from Madhya Pradesh, has the qualities of Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan. Like Rashid, he can also bowl economically on flat pitches and can also contribute with the bat. The only difference between the two is that Rashid is a right-arm wrist spinner, while Shivang is left-arm. Shivang was bought by SRH for just Rs 30 lakh in the mini auction held in December last year.
23-year-old Shivang started his professional career during the last domestic season. He played 4 matches during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and took 4 wickets. After this Shivang wreaked havoc in Vijay Hazare Trophy. He took 10 wickets in just 3 matches. Shivang had led Madhya Pradesh to victory by taking 5 wickets in Ahmedabad against a strong team like Karnataka. Recently, in SRH’s intra squad match, he took 2 wickets for 39 runs.
