Why is this corridor important?
Let us tell you that this corridor will pass through Nagaon, Karbi Anglong and Golaghat districts. This will improve the connectivity of Upper Assam, especially Dibrugarh and Tinsukia. Construction of bypass in Jakhlabandha and Bokakhat will reduce traffic in the cities and the movement of people will become easier.
Current Problems and Solutions
At present this part of NH-715 has two lanes and passes through densely populated areas. During monsoon, when Kaziranga National Park is filled with water, wild animals move towards higher areas and cross the highway. This leads to traffic jams, road accidents and deaths of wildlife. With the construction of elevated corridor, animals will be able to move safely without any hindrance.
