Heavy snowfall increased tension in Kedarnath, doors will open from April 22; preparations begin

These days a unique competition is being seen between faith and nature in Kedarnath Dham. On one hand, preparations for opening the doors of Lord Kedarnath were going on at a fast pace, while on the other hand, continuous heavy snowfall has spoiled everything. The doors of Kedarnath Dham are going to open on 22nd April. Workers and administration were working hard day and night in preparation for this. The roads were cleared, the areas around the temple were cleared of snow.

But the intermittent heavy snowfall since yesterday evening spoiled all the hard work of the workers. The roads and places which were cleared with great effort are now again covered with a blanket of snow several feet thick. Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) member Vineet Posti said that the weather in Kedarnath Dham is changing its color every moment.

Sometimes the sun shines and sometimes it starts snowing heavily. The entire temple complex is now completely covered with white snow. The paths which were recently cleared for walking have again become very difficult and dangerous. There are now clouds of worry over the preparations for the journey. Before opening the doors, improving the footpath, making arrangements for electricity and water, setting up tents and other important works had to be completed. But due to continuous snowfall, all these works have stopped or have become very slow.

Will bad weather become a problem?

If the weather remains bad like this then completing all the arrangements on time by April 22 will become a big challenge. This time the view of Kedarnath valley has become really beautiful. The entire Kedarpuri is shining with white snow like silver. Where devotees and tourists are happy to see this snowy scene. At the same time, this season has become a time of great difficulty for the laborers and employees engaged in preparations for the journey. This snowfall in Kedarnath is showing the power of nature no matter how hard a person works. Ultimately everything becomes small in front of weather and nature. Now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the weather to see when the snowfall will stop and the preparations for the journey can start again rapidly.
