Kejriwal kicks off AAP’s massive outreach campaign ahead of Delhi polls- The Week
Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched the party’s massive public outreach campaign in Delhi on Friday, months ahead of the assembly elections.
The campaign, titled as ‘Revdi Par Charcha’, aims to reach people across the national capital through 65,000 meetings, where party workers will distribute pamphlets about the free facilities (‘revdis’) provided by the AAP government.
“Our workers will hold 65,000 meetings across Delhi to make people understand what these free facilities mean and how only AAP can provide these,” Kejriwal said.
The former chief minister noted that the Delhi government is providing free electricity, water, healthcare, education, bus rides for women, and pilgrimage for the elderly. “Another ‘revdi’—a monthly Rs 1,000 assistance for women in Delhi —will be started soon.”
Kejriwal took a swipe at the BJP, saying the saffron party has failed to provide free electricity and water in the states where they are in power.
“Three days ago, one of their leaders said, ‘Vote for us, and we will do everything Kejriwal is doing.’ If they want to replicate our work, why not vote for the original instead of the duplicate?,” he said.
Describing Delhi as a “half-state”, Kejriwal noted that the power is divided between the Delhi government, the Centre, and the Lieutenant Governor.
“Our half-government has achieved so much in 10 years. What has their half-government done? If they couldn’t deliver as a half-government, how can people trust them with full power?,” he further asked.
“All the BJP has done in the past decade is to halt the AAP government’s developmental works,” the AAP chief further alleged.
