Kejriwal’s conversation with workers in Rajkot, said – ‘AAP’ will be the next mayor of Rajkot’

Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who is on a three-day tour of Gujarat, talked to party workers about the strategy for corporation elections in a program organized in Rajkot on Monday. He claimed that the mayor of Rajkot will be from AAP in the upcoming elections.

BJP’s time is now over – Kejriwal

Kejriwal reminded that in the last elections, the citizens of Rajkot had expressed trust in the party by voting 18 percent and this time this trust seems to be getting stronger. He said that the time of BJP, which has been in power for three decades, is about to end.

While addressing the workers, Kejriwal also raised the issue of the recent action taken against the farmers of the state. He told that 88 youth of farmers who were protesting peacefully against the Karda system were arrested and a case was registered against them under serious sections. He said that the Constitution gives the citizens the right to express their views peacefully, but despite this the farmers were lathicharged and put in jail. Kejriwal also claimed that the released farmers told that they were not even given water and food in the first 24 hours after their arrest.

Comparing Gujarat with the freedom movement, he said that this is the land of Sardar Patel and Mahatma Gandhi, who had forced the British to leave the country. Similarly, he said that now the people of Gujarat are ready to remove BJP from power and a major political change can be seen in the next two years.

Raised farmers’ issues

Along with the issue of farmers, Kejriwal also raised questions on the basic facilities of the state. He alleged that during the 30 years of BJP government’s rule, the condition of roads, schools and hospitals has worsened, while the spread of drug addiction is increasing. He said that FIRs are immediately registered against those who criticize the government and similarly they were also sent to jail in false cases.

He warned that in the coming time, action may be taken against AAP workers, but the party will stand with every worker. He assured that just as farmers were granted bail, similarly any worker going to jail will be released.

In the end, Kejriwal said that now the balance of power in Gujarat is going to change. People want change and it is the responsibility of AAP workers to go door to door to remove people’s fear and give them confidence. He expressed confidence that Aam Aadmi Party is going to get great success in Rajkot and the next mayor will definitely be from AAP.
