Kejriwal’s questions on SIT in Ram Mandir case, said – ‘An attempt to throw dust in the eyes of the people’

Delhi/Lucknow, Read. Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has raised questions on the validity and functioning of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate alleged irregularities related to donations and offerings for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Speaking to reporters at Lucknow airport before leaving for Ayodhya on Thursday, he alleged that the SIT has been formed with the aim of protecting influential people rather than bringing out the truth.

Questions raised on the validity of SIT

Kejriwal said that despite allegations of alleged irregularities in donations and offerings worth crores of rupees, no FIR has been registered so far. He said that how SIT was formed without FIR is a big question. He claimed that as per the legal process, first an FIR should be registered and only then a Special Investigation Team can be formed.

Raised the issue of sentiments of devotees

The AAP chief said that according to reports in the media and social media, there have been allegations of alleged irregularities related to diamonds, precious stones, cash and silver offered by devotees in the Ram temple. He said that these news have hurt the sentiments of crores of devotees across the country. Kejriwal said that he himself is extremely distressed by this matter and that is why he is going to Ayodhya.

Mentioned about Ayodhya visit

The former Chief Minister told that he will visit Ramlala in Ayodhya, offer prayers at Hanumangarhi and also meet the saints. He said that crores of people who have faith in Lord Ram have questions regarding this matter, which should be answered.

Accused of protecting influential people

Kejriwal alleged that the alleged irregularities related to donations and offerings were not possible without large-scale collusion. He said that if such a huge amount of money and valuables had indeed been embezzled, there should be a fair and effective investigation. According to him, the present SIT does not have sufficient powers of investigation and its aim is to suppress the entire case.

Sanjay Singh also handed over documents

Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also appeared before the SIT in the case of alleged financial irregularities related to Ram Temple. He handed over several documents to the investigation team and claimed that they contained important evidence related to alleged corruption and financial irregularities. Now all eyes are on the further action and investigation report of the SIT in this case.
