Kerala Election 2026: AIIMS, high-speed train and treasury for women in BJP’s masterstroke manifesto in Kerala

News India Live, Digital Desk: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its election manifesto for the Kerala Assembly elections 2026, which is being considered as a ‘masterstroke’ mixed of development and populist promises. BJP, which is trying to gain power in Kerala, has made big promises to the people of the state this time, in which issues like establishment of AIIMS, laying of network of high-speed trains and providing direct financial assistance to women are prominently included. ‘Lakshmi Nidhi’ and economic security for women. BJP has announced ‘Lakshmi Nidhi’ scheme to woo the women voters of Kerala. Under this, women from poor families will be given a fixed amount per month (possibly Rs 2000) directly into their bank accounts. Besides, interest-free loans for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and safe hostel facilities for working women are also promised. Infrastructure and Connectivity: ‘Kerala Ki Raftaar’ The manifesto places special emphasis on transforming the state’s infrastructure: Establishment of AIIMS: Concrete promise to set up the long-pending All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala. High-speed train network: ‘Vande’ to connect the northern and southern ends of the state Development of modern high-speed rail corridor on the lines of ‘India’. Sabarimala Development: Special budgetary provision for the development of Sabarimala temple and surrounding pilgrimage sites and improvement in infrastructure. Big announcement for youth and farmers. Employment promise: Target to create 5 lakh new government and private sector jobs in the state in the next 5 years. Relief to coconut and rubber farmers: Big increase in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for major rubber and coconut farmers of Kerala. Increase and direct cash assistance. Corruption-free governance: Resolve to implement transparent and digital governance by ending the existing ‘commission culture’ of the state. Religious and cultural protection: BJP in its manifesto has also mentioned making strict laws against ‘Love Jihad’ and taking steps towards freeing the temple administration from government control. The party has promised that it is committed to protecting the cultural heritage and traditions of Kerala. This manifesto of BJP has created a stir in Kerala politics. While the LDF and UDF are calling it ‘impractical’, the BJP leadership claims that these promises are ‘Modi’s guarantee’ that will make Kerala a developed state.
