Kerala Election 2026: BJP’s big bet, needy women will get Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha Card, help of ₹ 2,500 every month
News India Live, Digital Desk: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto for the Kerala Assembly elections 2026, in which ‘Women Power’ and ‘Public Health’ have been kept at the center. The party has announced ‘Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha’ card scheme for the needy and economically weaker section of the women of the state. Through this ambitious scheme, BJP has tried to penetrate into every household of Kerala and change the traditional political equations of the state. What is ‘Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha’ card? According to the election manifesto of BJP, through this special card, eligible women will be given financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 every month. This amount will come directly into the card as ‘recharge’, which the beneficiary women will be able to use for these two main purposes: Medicines: Procurement of medicines to treat serious and common diseases. Groceries: Ensuring availability of kitchen essentials and food items. The party argues that this card will make women self-reliant on the health and nutrition front, so that they will not have to depend on others for small needs. Other BJP leaders for Kerala Major election promises: BJP national president Nitin Naveen and state president released the manifesto and presented the roadmap for ‘Developed Kerala’: Two free LPG cylinders: Two free gas cylinders will be given to poor families in a year, one on the occasion of Onam and the other during Christmas. AIIMS and high-speed rail: Establishment of a state-of-the-art AIIMS institute in Kerala and development of a high-speed rail network connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur. Resolution. Increase in pension: Promise of ₹ 3,000 monthly pension for widows, needy women and senior citizens above 70 years of age. Free water: Supply of 20,000 liters of free water per month to every household. Preparation to feed ‘lotus’ amid allegations of ‘match fixing’. Releasing the manifesto, BJP President Nitin Naveen on the ruling LDF and opposition UDF. Hit hard. Terming both the alliances as ‘match fixers’, he said that for the last 70 years they have been cheating the people by coming to power one by one. He claimed that the people of Kerala now want corruption-free governance and will write a new story of change by offering ‘lotus’ in the elections to be held on April 9. The results of the assembly elections in Kerala will be declared on 4 May 2026.
