100 grams fresh cream

1 cup sugar

1 liter full cream milk

1 teaspoon ground green cardamom

100 grams khoya

20 threads saffron

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 tbsp milk

Step 1 Pour milk into curd and prepare saffron milk

To make this delicious dish, take a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and heat milk in it. Add lemon juice to the pan and keep stirring continuously. Milk will start turning into curd. Meanwhile, take a small bowl and soak saffron in milk and sugar.

Step 2 Make Chhena by steeping the curdled milk for 5-7 minutes

Now, line a large bowl with muslin or cheesecloth. Pour the curdled milk into a bowl and bring the edges together to squeeze out the whey. Wash the bundled chhena under running water to get rid of the lemon juice and then let it hang for 5-7 minutes.

Step 3 Cook chhena with fresh cream and khoya Now, take a non-stick pan on medium flame and add chhena along with khoya and fresh cream. Cook this mixture until it starts leaving the sides of the pan while stirring continuously. Then, add cardamom powder and saffron soaked in milk. Add sugar and let it cook for 3-5 minutes.

Step 4 Knead the soft dough and make small balls. When the mixture is cooked, turn off the flame and let it cool for a while. When the mixture is cool enough, start kneading it into a smooth dough and divide it into small balls.

Step 5 Flatten the balls and make designs, and apply silver work. Flatten the balls with the palm of your hands and make designs on top if you wish. Apply silver work on top of the peda and garnish with saffron strands or chopped dry fruits.
