Khajni Vaibhav murder case: Gorakhpur shocked by the murder of 12 year old innocent, dead body found in the basement; Seven including the main accused in custody

Khajani. gorakhpur The murder of 12-year-old Vaibhav Verma in Khajni town of the district has shocked the entire area. After the body of an innocent child missing since Monday was recovered from the basement of a suspect’s house on Tuesday morning, there was grief and anger in the entire town. Thousands of people took to the streets, traders protested and blocked the road for about three hours, demanding strict action against the accused. Seeing the situation, District Magistrate Deepak Meena and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Kaustubh themselves reached Khajni and talked to the family members and local people and assured fair and prompt action.

According to the information, Vaibhav Verma, belonging to a reputed businessman family, had gone missing under mysterious circumstances at around 2 pm on Monday afternoon. As soon as the information was received, the police formed several teams and started the search. On the basis of CCTV footage and other evidence, a suspect was detained and interrogated. On his information, Vaibhav’s body was recovered from the basement of the house at around 11 am on Tuesday morning.

SSP Dr. Kaustubh said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the innocent child was murdered about half an hour after the kidnapping. The accused had hidden the body in a sack by making a pit in the basement. He told that the main accused Sarvesh Bhatt has criminal tendencies and has been to jail earlier also. Till now, the police have detained a total of seven people including the main accused and started questioning them and every link of the entire incident is being thoroughly investigated.

After the incident, angry people demanded bulldozing of the accused’s house and strictest action. DM Deepak Meena met the family members and assured them of justice. The administration has sealed the ancestral house of the main accused. Besides, the Tehsil Administration has also started taking advance legal action by measuring the alleged illegal basement of the house and issuing a notice on behalf of the District Panchayat.

As soon as Vaibhav’s body reached home after post-mortem late in the evening, there was chaos in the entire town. A crowd of people gathered to pay their last respects amid heavy police security. Every eye was moist and only one question was echoing among the people – what was the fault of this innocent person? At present police force is deployed in the entire Khazni area. The administration has appealed to the people to maintain peace and said that an impartial investigation is going on based on the available evidence and strict action will be ensured against the culprits as per law.
