Khamenei broke the tradition of 37 years in fear of US attack! Where did Iran’s religious leader go?
Tension between Iran and America has created a war situation in West Asia. In this situation, the highest religious leader of Iran broke the tradition of 37 years!
Since the establishment of Islamic rule in Iran, the supreme religious leader has held a meeting with air force commanders every year on February 8. This practice was started by the then religious leader Khomeini. It was later continued by Khamenei as his successor. This tradition has not been broken even in the Covid situation.
Abbas said that Tehran is in talks with China and Russia about reconciliation meetings and the movement of US troops. The foreign minister also referred to these two countries as ‘strategic friends’ of Iran.
During the 1979 revolution in Iran, Air Force commanders met with then-religious leader Khomeini on February 8 with a pledge to oust the Pahlavi monarchy. Since then, this meeting has become a tradition in Tehran. However, the meeting was also held this year. But in that meeting, Khamenei was replaced by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Abdulrahim Mousavi. This raises the question, where is Iran’s highest religious leader?
Incidentally, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi attended a ceremony in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on Sunday. News agency AFP reported that there was a discussion on Iran’s recent reconciliation meeting with America and Tehran’s nuclear plan. Abbas said that the indirect meeting organized in Oman is going on, but he does not think that America is giving much importance to it. Therefore, there is no question of any compromise with America on Iran’s nuclear program and uranium enrichment.
Abbas said, “Why are we putting so much emphasis on uranium enrichment? Why are we not giving up on anything? Why are we not hesitating on the threat of war? Because no one else has the right to decide what we will do. We are not at all afraid of the deployment of American troops in the West Asia region.” The foreign minister also referred to these two countries as ‘strategic friends’ of Iran.
