Elahi said that he had asked Ali Khamenei’s security team why he was not being taken to a safe place or to another city, because everyone knew the address of his office and home. In response, security officials said that Khamenei had refused to do so. He said that he would be ready to leave his home and go somewhere else only if safe havens could be provided for the 90 million people of Tehran.

Refusal to build a bunker under the house

Elahi further said that he had also asked the security officials that if Khamenei did not want to go to another city, then at least a bunker should be built in the basement under his house. But, officials said that Khamenei did not give permission for this either. He had clearly said that he would give permission to build bunkers for himself only if such bunkers could be made available for the 9 crore Iranian people also.

What did Khamenei’s family say?

According to Iranian officials, the same question was also asked to Khamenei’s family. The family said that Khamenei believes that he is the leader of the country and a leader should always be equal to the poor and common people. He stressed that if he starts living a different and special life then he will not be able to remain the leader of this country.
