Kharge will again go to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka! Nomination filed in the presence of Congress stalwarts including Rahul Gandhi
Bengaluru. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections from Karnataka. At Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, he met Assembly Secretary M.K. Presented the nomination before Vishalakshi. During this, many senior Congress leaders and state government ministers were present.
After filing nomination, Kharge said that he has the full support of the party leadership and MLAs. He expressed confidence that the victory of Congress candidates will be ensured in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections to be held on June 18. He said, “All the MLAs and leaders have unanimously supported me. I am confident that the party will contest the elections with full strength and will be successful.”
On this occasion, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, K.C. Many senior leaders including Venugopal were present. It is noteworthy that Kharge is currently the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and his tenure is ending on June 25.
Pawan Kheda and Mansoor Ali Khan are also Congress candidates-
Congress has also nominated its media and publicity department chief Pawan Kheda and AICC secretary Mansoor Ali Khan as candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections from Karnataka. According to party sources, both the leaders will file their nominations soon.
Mansoor Ali Khan had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Bengaluru Central seat, although he could not win. This time Congress has placed bets on its experienced and trusted leaders in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Congress has started finalizing its strategy in Karnataka for the Rajya Sabha elections to be held on June 18 and the party leadership seems completely united.
