Defense Minister Khawaja Asif took Jemima Goldsmith to task for expressing concern over the health of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Jemima Goldsmith tweeted on the social media platform X, expressing worry about Imran Khan’s safety and health, stating that serious and concerning matters are arising regarding him in prison.
She mentioned that Pakistani authorities have barred family members and lawyers from visiting Imran Khan, and all court hearings have been postponed.
In response, Khawaja Asif said that there is a continuous leniency being shown towards Imran Khan, even though he has never shown leniency towards his opponents.
He pointed out that Nawaz Sharif was not even allowed to speak to his dying wife, Kulsoom Nawaz, over the phone, and many opposition leaders have been imprisoned without any charges.
