Khel Maharan 2.0 accused of not giving information to journalists about the sports events going on in different parts of Shribhoomi district.

Assam Sribhoomi (Karimganj) Correspondent Dainik Read: Khel Maharan 2.0 was started by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the Government of Assam. Khel Maharan 2.0 was organized in Ramakrishna Nagar and Patharkandi area under the leadership of State Sports Initiative and Department Officer of Government of Assam in GP including various assembly constituencies of Shribhoomi district. In this regard, journalists were neither called nor informed by the department or sports organizers. Local journalist personnel in Chandkhira of Patharkandi assembly constituency and Dulabhchhada of Ramakrishna Nagar assembly constituency expressed widespread grief and said that this is the negligence of the government officials.

Due to not inviting journalists in Khela Maharan 2.0, due to which the players and children of the area could not showcase their skills and talent in front of the media. The talent and performance of talented players from rural and urban areas could be seen everywhere through the media. But because of the organizers or department officials the child could not show his talent in front of the media. The inaugural ceremony of Khel Maharan 2.0 in Patharkandi assembly constituencies of Sribhoomi district was held at Chandkhira local sports ground. However, the inauguration was done by Minister Krishnendu Pal. Deep anger has also been seen among local journalists.

It is believed that there was not enough presence of players in this big 2.0 competition and there were some shortcomings in organizing the game, hence to hide such situation, local media was not invited to the game. During this time, even journalists were not invited to the Dulabhchhada Panchayat level Khel Maharan 2.0 of Ramakrishna Nagar assembly constituency. Journalists expressed regret and said that this was happening due to the negligence of departmental officials. It remains to be seen what steps the high level officials of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Assam Government take in this regard. Journalists drew the attention of the Prime Minister of India and the Chief Minister of Assam to this matter.
