Kho-Kho World Cup 2025: Indian women's team reached semi-finals after defeating Bangladesh 109-14
Mumbai Mumbai. The Indian women's team performed brilliantly and defeated Bangladesh by a huge margin of 109-14 here on Friday to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Kho-Kho World Cup. Under the leadership of captain Priyanka Ingle, India maintained dominance in all four turns, in which Turn 2 also included a spectacular dream run, which lasted more than five minutes and recorded 100 or more points for the fifth consecutive time.
In the quarter-finals against Bangladesh, India dominated from the start and scored half-centuries in Turn 1 thanks to Nasreen Shaikh and Priyanka, taking their points beyond 50. Bangladesh scored only four easy touches at the end of turn 2, taking the score to 56–8 with two more turns left in the game.
There were no changes during the game and India did not let Bangladesh settle in the contest. Reshma Rathod's sky dive gave her her fifth consecutive 100 in the tournament and the score at the end of the third turn was 106-8. India eventually won 109–14 at the end of the fourth turn.
In other matches, Uganda recorded a decisive win over New Zealand, booking their place in the semi-finals with a final score of 71–26, South Africa defeated Kenya 51–46 to progress to the next round while Nepal defeated Iran 103–30.
