Kho Kho World Cup: Indian women's invincible journey continues, defeating Iran and reaching quarter-finals

New Delhi. A day after giving a historic defeat to South Korea by a margin of 175-18, the Indian women's Kho Kho team booked its place in the quarter-finals of the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 by defeating Iran by a huge margin of 84 points at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. It has been confirmed.

Indian women playing in blue jersey showed why they are title contenders. This team maintained its dominance from the very first second, securing the top position in its group by scoring 100-16 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

The match began with India's trademark aggressive start as they bowled out Iran's first batch within 33 seconds. Ashwini led the attack while Minoo continued her fine form with multiple touch points, helping India score an impressive 50 runs in Turn 1.

The attack continued in all four turns, including a spectacular dream run of 6 minutes 8 seconds in Turn 3, which effectively sealed the match for India.

Led by the tactical genius of Wazir Nirmala and contributions from captain Priyanka Ingle, Nirmala Bhati and Nasreen, Team India lived up to its championship credentials with another emphatic win.
