Kia EV3 Production Model Unveiled

Kia has finally showcased the production versions of the EV3 electric vehicle. This will be the smallest EV in their lineup and will offer even more affordable getaway into EVs. The EV3 concept was shown not a long time back and the production model is mostly the same as the concept.

The EV3 is smaller than the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the EV6. For context, it is as large as the Hyundai Creta in terms of its length, so not a very small car but it is quite small when we compare to all the humongous electric SUVs that manufacturers are trying to push over consumers. The world needs more smaller sized EVs and we are delighted to see the EV3 in all its glory.

Kia EV3: Exterior and Interior Design

The EV3 draws inspiration from its larger cousin, the EV9 SUV and has similar vertical stacked headlights and taillights. It looks quite futuristic and very stormtrooper in the way that the white and black details have been carried out. There are cool looking wheels which look quite interesting with all the white accents.

In terms of the interior, it brings in the futuristic look from the outside. The dashboard is dominated by two screens one of which is the digital instrument cluster while the other is the infotainment touch screen. The seats have dual tone colour and the cabin has been well thought out with ample cubbies and space to keep stuff.

Kia EV3: Drivetrain

One of the big talking points with the EV3 is the drivetrain. The EV3 unlike its larger siblings is made on a 400V architecture instead of a 800V one, but Kia assures that this will also be able to charge from 10-80% in just a hair over 30 minutes. It comes with either a 58.3 kWh battery or a 81.4 kWh battery pack which will be capable of an estimated range of around 600 kms which is huge for a car of this size and it could potentially be a viable daily driver for many. There will be both front wheel drive and all wheel drive models to choose from.

Kia EV3: Launch and Pricing

The EV3 has not launched yet but will soon come to the Korean, European and American markets. If it will come to India or not is yet to be seen but this could very well be a compelling vehicle for India as well. We can see the vehicle in customer hands by 2026.
