Kia Seltos SUV To Get A Brand-New Top-End Variant
Kia launched the all-new Seltos SUV in the market earlier this year. The prices and variants of the all-new Seltos are already out. From the sales numbers, it looks like people are liking the new Seltos just like the older one. Kia recently released the X-Line and GT Line variants for the Carens Clavis, both ICE and EV, in the market. It looks like we might see a new variant introduced in the recently launched new-generation Seltos as well.
At the time of the media drives of the Kia Seltos SUV, we had learned that Kia is planning to introduce a new top-end trim for the Seltos SUV. It was expected to be launched in January when they announced the prices, but that didn’t happen. Currently, Kia offers the Seltos in HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK(O), HTX, HTX(A), GTX, and GTX(A) variants.
The new variant that is expected to be introduced in the Seltos will be a top-end variant based on the GT Line. Kia offers the Seltos in Tech Line, GT Line, and X Line variants. The GTX Plus variant will be the range-topping option within the GT Line.
As this is going to be the top-end variant, the SUV will be loaded to the brim with premium features. The GTX Plus variant of the Seltos will offer all these premium features and more. While we don’t have a clear idea about the exact features that this new variant will get, it appears that the new top-end variant will get more Level 2 ADAS features than the regular variants. The standard Seltos comes with 21 Level 2 ADAS features, while the GTX Plus variant is expected to offer additional ones.
The exact details of these extra features are yet to be revealed, but it looks like they could include some degree of autonomous driving capability. It is unlikely to be a fully autonomous system, but it is expected to go beyond the regular Level 2+ ADAS setup.
Apart from this, the SUV is expected to get minor cosmetic changes on the outside. It might get different colour elements and a new shade on the exterior, while the interior theme remains dark as this is a GT Line variant.

The Tech Line and GT Line variants of the Kia Seltos have differences when it comes to the bumper, headlamps, grille, and faux skid plate design. The design of the alloy wheels and the interior theme are also different in both these trims. The X Line, as usual, gets a matte grey or black shade, giving it a sportier appeal.
The Kia Seltos is currently offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with either a manual or IVT gearbox. The second option is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, available with iMT and DCT gearboxes. The third engine is a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit that comes with manual and automatic transmission options.
By 2027, Kia will introduce a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine in the Seltos. This would actually make its debut after the next-generation Creta’s launch next year. The price for the Kia Seltos currently starts at Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes all the way up to Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
